About the Global Conference on AI and Future of Work
21–23 May 2027, Seoul. Hybrid: in person or online from anywhere in the world.
About the Conference
The Global Conference on AI and Future of Work (AFW) will be held in Seoul, South Korea, from 21 to 23 May 2027. It is a hybrid conference: participants can attend in person in Seoul or take part virtually from anywhere in the world.
AFW exists because the debate about AI and work is running far ahead of the evidence. Headlines swing between mass unemployment and boundless productivity, while the harder questions — which tasks change, which workers are affected, how fast, and what policy should do about it — are studied in disciplines that seldom share a room: labour economics, management, computer science, and public policy.
This future of jobs conference puts them together. It treats the future of work as an empirical question rather than a slogan, and gives equal weight to rigorous research and to the experience of the organisations already living through the change.
As an artificial intelligence conference grounded in the world of work rather than the technology alone, AFW spans automation and augmentation, skills and reskilling, labour markets and inequality, governance and job quality — across sectors and across economies at very different stages of adoption.
AFW runs a focused programme, with more time per presentation and more direct access to the Scientific Committee and keynote speakers than a large established event typically allows. It also means every claim on this website describes what we have actually committed to deliver: double-blind review by a named committee, an Abstract Book with an ISBN, and Proceedings with an ISSN and a Crossref DOI.
Whether you come to present, to listen, or to take part online, you are welcome here.

Academic Scope
AFW covers theoretical, empirical, and practice-based work on artificial intelligence and the future of work. Interdisciplinary contributions are particularly welcome, as are economic analyses, organisational case studies, and critical policy work — the kind of research that tends to fall between an artificial intelligence conference on one side and an economics meeting on the other, and that in 2027 needs a room of its own.
Key areas include, but are not limited to:
Submissions are welcome from every sector and every country, including from economies where AI adoption is only beginning. If your topic is related to the themes above but not explicitly listed, you are still encouraged to submit.
Our Commitment to Quality and Ethics
Credibility is the only thing that makes a conference worth attending, so AFW commits to the following in writing.
Double-blind peer review.
Every abstract and full paper is reviewed by Scientific Committee members without knowledge of author identity.
Plagiarism screening.
All manuscripts are checked with Crossref Similarity Check (iThenticate) before evaluation. Work identified as plagiarised is declined without review.
Research ethics.
Work involving human participants or workplace data should confirm appropriate ethical approval and consent where applicable.
Transparent criteria.
Submissions are assessed on relevance, methodological or practical soundness, clarity, originality, ethical conduct, and contribution to the field.
Inclusion.
AFW welcomes participants regardless of nationality, career stage, sector, or resource setting, and provides virtual participation so that travel is not a barrier.
